Updates
It’s been a while since I’ve updated. We had some friends from college(Brian & Leslie) come see us a week ago. We went to the Lindale Country Fest… which took about 15 minutes…. We got to show them our Wii (hee hee)– And I gotta say, it was pretty hilarious watching Leslie go at it.
Then of course we reminisced by playing some Fusion Frenzy, and we broke out the Halo (I couldn’t stop them—). They brought their dog Suzie with them- so Asher got to play too.

This past week was busy too. On Wednesday night we had Care Group, then Thursday we went to the Casting Crowns concert. It was really awesome. I’ve decided that I really like Leeland too. He opened for them.

Friday, we went to my parent’s house. My mom, sisters, and I went to the Lion King show at the Music Hall at Fair Park. I had heard that it was awesome but Oh My Gosh!! It was AMAZING!! The opening scene was so great. The music was so powerful- and the costumes—WOW! All four of us were tearing up… (even Julie(not crying just tearing). Right when it was over- I was ready to see it again.
Saturday morning we got up and went to have a big family portrait done. I can’t wait til we get our prints back. Then, of course, we just went shopping and hung out.
We’re hoping to just chill this week. But who knows- we don’t normally turn down an opportunity to get out of the house. We’ll see…

Updates
Last weekend was pretty busy for me. Friday night Austin and I went to my parent’s house so that on Saturday we could help with some painting for their remodel. So on Saturday we painted- then Saturday night we came home. Sunday was church, as usual- then Sunday night I drove to Terrell to stay the night in a hotel with some of the other workers from the Tyler store. We went out to eat and it was a good time- but we had to get up early on Monday so we could start working at the Tanger Outlet at 6 am. Guess what—They’re changing it to a regular Old Navy. No more outlet pricing:( So we started with an almost empty store and by 2pm when we left it was full. Of course I stayed at Tanger long enough to go down to the Gap Outlet…got some great deals too. Don’t worry though- I asked the manager at Gap if she new if they were turning it from Gap Outlet to regular Gap also and she said no. What a relief- Otherwise why would I ever go to that mall again?

So we finally found a church and we’re joining it. We’ve been visiting Grace Community in Lindale for over a month and last Saturday started the membership process. There was a pot luck dinner thing and kind of a meet-and-greet so we could get to know some of the staff and other new members. On Wednesday we went to our first Community group meeting. We met a bunch of other young married couples. It was fun. I am really looking forward to getting to know them all. Tomorrow we have our first new member Sunday school class. I’m guessing its gonna be just about the church doctrine and stuff. Just so we know what we are getting into, and that our beliefs line up with theirs. Not that I’m worried about it though. Thursday will be my first all women’s Bible study. I hope that there are other young ladies taking the night class- cause they offer one on Wednesday mornings too and some stay at home mom’s may do that one instead. Austin is probably going to get involved with the youth too. The youth minister actually just came to Grace- about the same time we did, and he’s about our age- I know Austin will enjoy working with him. They are having a meeting for all who want to help on Thursday too. I feel so blessed that we have been given these opportunities. Finding Grace- and getting involved so soon. They are a relatively new church to Lindale and they are about to start a building program for the church. We really feel like we can get in there and be part of this from the start. What a privilege to be able to contribute to building a house of God!

Austin got his 360 back in the mail the other day–Gravy. We only have one controller for it and we have no games- But his boss is letting him borrow a couple of his games til we get some… Okay- so we spent $100 on the system- Now Austin wants to buy- a wireless adapter for it ($50) and another controller ($40) and a game ($60) and get X-Box Live ($50) AND get a subscription to this game rental thing that is kinda like Netflix ($I have no idea). Geez. Well, I guess if he can let me buy all the clothes that I do– I should let him get a few things now and again. He doesn’t ask for much…. I love him;).

So-I know I’m a huge dork- but I am so glad that I work in a positive environment. We get these little applause card things when we do something good and for every one you get your name goes into a drawing. My name was drawn and so I’m the month’s applause card winner—Yay-name on the wall! AND- I’m the Employee of the Month! They took my picture and everything. I guess I just compare this job to my last one–which was so not an uplifting place—and I’m grateful to be acknowledged when I work hard.

Family Reunion

Updates
The reunion was really fun. We went to my parents on Thursday night so that we could get up early and leave with my parents on Friday. Unfortunately, Austin and I got into a game of Dr. Mario and stayed up til 2am playing–which made it a little harder to get up on Friday at 6. We stopped along the way at a bunch of different places- just trying to make the 5 hour trip worth while-( though it ended up taking us like 10 to finally get to Kerrville). The resort was beautiful. There was the river (of course) and there was a dam that made a waterfall- the slide that went into the river was really fun too (see slideshow). It was good to see all of our family. There were about 60 of us total. We did an auction on Saturday night to raise money for the next reunion and I painted a picture for it. It went for $40!

The trip back seemed even longer than the trip there-(cause we were so tired) and we didn’t even stop that much. And Austin and I were really sunburned so it wasn’t all that great being in the car all day. But overall it was a great vacation. The whole family decided that we are going back there in 2 years for the next reunion. I’m already excited!
